20 And when the Jews heard these things they were angry with him; yea, even as with the prophets of old, whom they had cast out, and stoned, and slain; and they also sought his life, that they might take it away. But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance.

Not only will Nephi show us the tender mercies of the Great Deliverer, but I think the entire Book of Mormon was written for that purpose. Nephi concludes the first chapter with those words....AND MORMON CONCLUDES THE WHOLE BOOK WITH THE SAME THING.

Nephi concludes this FIRST chapter with...."Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

Moroni concludes in the LAST chapter (of his own writings) with the same, "I would exhort you... that you would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men...I would exhort you that ye deny not the power of God; for he worketh by power, according to the faith of the children of men".

There is a connection between our faith in Jesus Christ, His power, and our deliverance by Him. I believe that is purpose and teaching of the entire Book of Mormon. If that is the case, then I had better apply that to myself.

What do I need deliverance from? Pondering this today!

April - ask in faith, believing in the promise of these prophets and Jesus Christ, Himself.

April - Believe His power applies to me and will deliver me from what holds me captive.

April - Express and articulate to God exactly what I believe in, and what I believe Jesus Christ, because of His Atonement, can do for me.

I will believe His power can deliver me.
