10 And after he had baptized the Messiah with water, he should behold and bear record that he had baptized the Lamb of God, who should take away the sins of the world.
Why did Nephi choose to include in his record, what Lehi had included in his, about Lehi's prophecies of John the Baptist? Why elaborate on the prophet John?
There must be a reason why knowing about Lehi's prophesy of John would bless us in the last days.
I will pray to understand this, and John, better. It (he) is obviously very important. Does the importance lie in the fact that Jesus was baptized to fulfill all righteousness by someone who held authority? And that that someone would in a couple thousand years from that time have a pivotal role in the Restoration of the fullness of the gospel?
I love how the Book of Mormon and the Bible are essentially the same book, just the pages are split apart within each other and bound separately. "If you will believe one, you will believe the other."
