12 Yea, even my father spake much concerning the Gentiles, and also concerning the house of Israel, that they should be compared like unto an olive tree, whose branches should be broken off and should be scattered upon all the face of the earth.
Interesting! Lehi prophesied that the House of Israel should be compared like unto an olive tree. His son, Jacob, would write this prophesy in detail on Nephi's plates.
Did Lehi know about, or had he read Zenos's allegory of the olive tree? Was that all on the brass plates? Did he teach that beautiful love story to his sons?
Did Zenos, Lehi or Jacob know that that allegory and the lessons from it would be preserved and taught for generations - for thousands of years? And that we, in the last days, would desperately need it?
Do I understand the significance that I get to participate in the gathering of Israel?
It's almost like I'm in the scriptures.
Hoping that's not a presumptuous or improper thought. But it's kind of a cool one.
