5 And it came to pass after I saw these things, I saw the vapor of darkness, that it passed from off the face of the earth; and behold, I saw multitudes who had not fallen because of the great and terrible judgments of the Lord.
7 And I also saw and bear record that the Holy Ghost fell upon twelve others; and they were ordained of God, and chosen.
Is this when Nephi becomes a prophet? He is "seeing" the future by an angel of God (or Jesus Christ, Himself, I'm not sure) so I believe this now makes Nephi a "seer," so wouldn't that make him as a prophet too?
I believe so.
I find it interesting that this vision came to him after he 1. desired to know the things of God. 2. believed that God was able to show him these things, and 3.sat pondering on them.
So, he became a prophet after exercising faith in Christ, righteous desires, work and prayer.
I believe his father went through the same process before being called as God's prophet.
Makes me wonder what our current prophet has experienced.
