3 And I, Nephi, did go into the mount oft, and I did pray oft unto the Lord; wherefore the Lord showed unto me great things.

Is the mountain similar to or symbolize of the temple? (In all scripture?) If so, I, too, can go to the temple often, pray, and receive great things of the Lord.

(I'm grateful I don't have to regularly, physically climb to the tops of tall mountains.) (But then again, the temple IS hard to get to much of the time.)

What are the similarities between the mountains and temples?

  • Higher- spiritually and physically.

  • Separated from worldly things.

  • Built under the hand and direction of God.

  • Beautiful.

  • Clean.

  • Quiet.

  • Encourage contemplation.

  • Invite the spirit.

  • Everything in them points to, and points us to- God and His son, (the Sun,) Jesus Christ.
