And thus Laman and Lemuel, being the eldest, did murmur against their father. And they did murmur because they knew not the dealings of that God who had created them.
I pay special attention to the word "because' or "because of" in scripture. I've seen it several times in this chapter already. This word always ties consequences directly to actions, so the correlation (actually causation) is very clear to see.
In verse 12, Laman and Lemuel did murmur, rebel, and even sought to kill their father because "they knew not the dealings of that God who created them."
What do I murmur against simply because I don't yet know the goodness of God? Or what do I doubt or fear, for the same reason? Even more importantly, how can I come to know God better, so I will only have a desire to serve and obey Him?
April - think of His Son, often, each day.
April - picture His actions and mirror His attitude in prayer.
I hope that my "sometimes" will develop into a habit of "often", which will develop into an "always". Then, I will know there will be a great reward of His Spirit "because of" that effort.
