1 Nephi 2:16

And it came to pass that I, Nephi, being exceedingly young, nevertheless being large in stature, and also having great desires to know of the mysteries of God, wherefore, I did cry unto the Lord; and behold he did visit me, and did soften my heart that I did believe all the words which had been spoken by my father; wherefore, I did not rebel against him like unto my brothers.

Nephi's blessings must have begun with his "great desires" to know God. This desire compelled him to pray for that. He received a softened and believing heart - and we received the prophet Nephi - because of his desire to know God.


I will pray for a greater desire to know God and His Son, I believe God will grant me my request. I'll keep praying to know the mysteries of God -or what I want most to know. I believe God loves to answer those prayers.
