24 And if it so be that they rebel against me, they shall be a scourge unto thy seed, to stir them up in the ways of remembrance.
The last line is one I think we don't pay enough attention to. "And if it so be that they rebel against me, they shall be a scourge unto thy seed, to stir them up, in the ways of remembrance. The rest of the Book of Mormon is a record of this happening.
The Lamanites, as they reject God, continually stir the Nephites up in the ways of remembrance of God and His promised blessings (that He would prosper them in the land if they kept His commandments). Is not this "stirring up" then a great blessing, tender mercy, and endurance of God's love, and that He always keeps His promises?
What does this mean for me? Today I will ponder and pray in gratitude about and for the land we live in. I'll express thanks to God for the freedom and liberties we enjoy- and ponder more on the importance of God's blessing the land for our sake.
Can we be blessed abundantly, without a blessing on the land? Points to ponder in my desire to understand God and His ways more.
