7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
I never read this verse before focusing on the words "the Lord" and "he".
This puts the verse in a whole new light .
It's not about Nephi, and what he said. It's about Jesus Christ and what He will do if we trust Him.
Yet, this verse is an excellent example of what that trust looks like.
It looks like HIM.
If there's one thing I've learned (and am still trying desperately to remember), it's this: When there is something scary in my life that I need to "have faith" in Christ for, if I can remember that "IT'S NOT ABOUT THE THING, IT'S ABOUT THE FAITH", then I can trust that the Savior's involvement will be in love.
For me, that's where 'peaceful' comes from, and what 'rest' feels like.

Thank you, April. I love this verse so much. It has helped me time and time again in my life. I think of it, esp in the time of trial/challenge... for it gives me comfort that HE will not give us a commandment or any calling/ challenge except HE will prepare a way for us to handle/ accomplish it. It really isn't about the challenge/ calling -- it IS about, do WE have the Faith in HIM to know HE is there with us 'handling' it. Thanks.. I really needed to hear this and remind myself (esp after last night and this morning.... ). 💖 Karen
