1 Nephi 6:6

I wonder how old Nephi was when he began writing his own record and how much of his life, that we are about to read about, he had experienced prior to picking up the pen (or engraving tool)?

I also wonder how many plates he made? I know it must have been a LOT because prophets for hundreds of years, continued engraving on the "plates of Nephi".

I wonder what we make, or that I specifically am making, that will last for generations and bless my descendants? Maybe this record?
