15 Now behold, I say unto you that if ye will return unto Jerusalem ye shall also perish with them. And now, if ye have choice, go up to the land, and remember the words which I speak unto you, that if ye go ye will also perish; for thus the Spirit of the Lord constraineth me that I should speak.

Nephi chooses to use the word "constraineth", again, to describe how the Spirit is communicating with him.

I wonder what being constrained by the Spirit is like? Have I ever been constrained by the spirit? If so, when? What were the circumstances? And is 'constrained' different than 'prompted', 'warned' or 'guided'?

Nephi seemed to know that certain thoughts and feelings were from the Spirit. I want that!

I will pray to recognize the promptings of the Spirit for what they are, and to recognize what is not from God.

This gift of discernment is the spiritual gift that I desire the most.

I believe that as I seek for the gift, and prepare myself to receive it, God will bless me according to His will. I hope that someday, if I do my part, I will have this beautiful, precious, important gift.
