12 And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit.

Because Nephi and Lehi asked with humility, faith, intent and submission, God granted them their requests.

It was God's will.

He must have been glad they asked!

I also find it interesting that I cannot find one instance in the Bible (NT) where Jesus did not grant the humble request of a faithful and 'willing' follower.

What does that mean?

What does that mean about my requests?

What about the prayers that seem to go unanswered?

Here's what I know. I know God loves it when we pray and ask Him for what we need and want, AND He loves answering those prayers in a way that we will get a glimpse of His love for us, whenever possible. AND that when we can't see His love in that answer, it's because He loves us SO much - that He is willing to say - "This may hurt a little right now, but I have an even BETTER "yes" to that prayer. It will be worth it. Trust me."

I know that God always blesses the faithful, and that everything will be okay in the end for those who trust and follow Him. And that if things aren't okay, it's because it's not the end.
