1 Nephi 8:21

21 And I saw numberless concourses of people, many of whom were pressing forward, that they might obtain the path which led unto the tree by which I stood.

I've noticed Lehi said, "by which I stood" 3 times in the last 3 verses. I've noticed that he isn't told to 'go down' and get his family. But, instead he stayed there and beckoned his family to come partake of the fruit. (Fruit- Atonement of Jesus Christ.)


So, this teaches me that I should not leave the standards of Christ in an effort to bring loved ones or others to Him. But, instead, stand firm and "call with a loud voice", testifing and inviting boldly.


I need to work on that.


Sometimes I think it's better to meet people where they are, but if do that, then they can't see Christ. If I stand BY and WITH Him, then His brightness can be seen.
