9 Wherefore, I, Lehi, have obtained a promise, that inasmuch as those whom the Lord God shall bring out of the land of Jerusalem shall keep his commandments, they shall prosper upon the face of this land; and they shall be kept from all other nations, that they may possess this land unto themselves. And if it so be that they shall keep his commandments they shall be blessed upon the face of this land, and there shall be none to molest them, nor to take away the land of their inheritance; and they shall dwell safely forever.

This is similar to yesterday's ponderings about "land".

Why are we given land for our inheritance? Why does it matter on what land/place we reside or dwell? It must be significant because it's promised by God over and over. But why?

I guess I can see a desire to own a place for your home, or to have a place that is yours. But is that what this means? Is any place really ours? Should it be? Apparently so, if I understand this correctly?

Hmmm, so much to ponder.

"They shall be blessed upon the face of the land, and shall be more to molest them, not to take away the land of their inheritance; and they shall dwell safely forever." (Forever!) What does this mean for me? Does this relate at all to our current home? Meaning- will some things/places to be ours forever? Is that what the scripture said? So how should I look at the land that we've been given stewardship over? I supposed I should care for it, beautify it, enjoy it and be grateful for it.

There's so much I don't know but I'm grateful for a lifetime of opportunities to learn it!

Why is it that the more I learn, the more I realize how little I know, while my desire to learn more grows exponentially! Is learning a vacuum or a waterfall?

Or both?
