11 But a seer will I raise up out of the fruit of thy loins; and unto him will I give power to bring forth my word unto the seed of thy loins—and not to the bringing forth my word only, saith the Lord, but to the convincing them of my word, which shall have already gone forth among them.
12 Wherefore, the fruit of thy loins shall write; and the fruit of the loins of Judah shall write; and that which shall be written by the fruit of thy loins, and also that which shall be written by the fruit of the loins of Judah, shall grow together, unto the confounding of false doctrines and laying down of contentions, and establishing peace among the fruit of thy loins, and bringing them to the knowledge of their fathers in the latter days, and also to the knowledge of my covenants, saith the Lord.
I can't help but wonder if someone has been commissioned to write what is happening today? Or more than one person? From different parts of the world?
When the lost tribes return, they are going to bring their scriptures right? So, someone there is writing. Is someone here writing?
I know we are all supposed to keep a journal, and the ward and stake historians keep official church histories but is there- I don't know- that's a lot of records to compile into one. Who's writing the prophesies and happenings in the church? Anyone?
And! It's interesting that the scriptures/writings mentioned in this verse are to bring us to a knowledge of the covenants of the Lord! (There it is again!) The scriptures are to teach us about the promises of God and His covenant that we are all invited to enter into.
It's all about covenants.
That's one thing I've been learning. It's ALL about covenants.
Every day, in everything we do, if we remember, have faith in, and follow Jesus Christ, we can be assured (as written in all the holy scriptures) that God's promises are sure.
When I think about the promises God makes to us in the temple, this knowledge is comforting and life-directing.
It's nice to know God gave us scriptures to continually (daily) remind us what life is for, who He is, and the purpose of mortality.
They truly are a Liahona.
