17 Nevertheless, notwithstanding the great goodness of the Lord, in showing me his great and marvelous works, my heart exclaimeth: O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities.

This part breaks my heart and is so hard to read.

When did he write this? Was it years later? (Which is what I thought, - yet it seems so raw and in the moment. Was he writing it live as it happened?)

I'm SOO grateful for raw, honest biographies of normal people (well, maybe not normal in the spiritual sense, but normal in the human sense) having normal feelings that most of us can relate to! I'm so grateful that the writers left all the rawness, dysfunction and ugliness in these accounts, so we can know how to deal with the raw emotions, dysfunction and ugliness in our own lives.

I LOVE THIS PRECIOUS BOOK.
