35 Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen.
I am so grateful Nephi wrote down this prayer!
I always learn and receive so much from it (him.)
Today I broke it down into 4 parts!
1. He shares his honest thoughts with God.
2. He gives orders to himself/ commitments/pronouncements to God (repentance.)
3. He asks for help.
4. He declares his faith in God - to God.
I'm going to pattern my prayers after Nephi's today. If I really analyze my efforts in each of these areas, I can see where I need to improve!
Today I'll try giving myself orders/commitments (not sure what else to call what Nephi did) and see how it goes. In fact, I'll do it now and write it down:
April - Rejoice in the blessings of Christ's Atonement and what He has done for my heart. Resist obvious temptation. Do not anger. If I start- stop it. Do not slacken my strength because of the pullings of the enemy of my soul. Instead, increase my strength and faith in Christ. Cry to the Lord and give thanks for His infinite love and mercy and say "I will give Thee, My Shephard, my all. I am yours."
(That was very personal, dear readers. Thank you for your patience as I document my efforts.)
