2 Nephi 5:11

11 And the Lord was with us; and we did prosper exceedingly; for we did sow seed, and we did reap again in abundance. And we began to raise flocks, and herds, and animals of every kind.

Likely their first experience of peaceful living.


They must have been happy. Despite what happened.


I always wonder, did the others know they were going to leave? Or did they sneak away? It would be hard to sneak away, but how else would they have taken the plates and the Liahona? Did the brothers say goodbye? How completely heart breaking for all the little cousins who were innocent and would never see each other again! Except in war. :(


This book starts sad, ends sad, and has Christ to fill in all those sad holes with peace and hope.


Thank goodness for God.
