21 Now there was a strict law among the people of the church, that there should not any man, belonging to the church, arise and persecute those that did not belong to the church, and that there should be no persecution among themselves.

Ok. So much to chew on.

What are we feeling when we persecute others? Hatred? Bitterness? Superiority? Contempt? Judgment? I can see why there was a strict law against it to protect their hearts and to help them to not nurture those feelings.

What's interesting is that those who began to persecute, just began to be proud. They relinquished humility and the void (in their heart) was replaced with Satan's void replacers.

There is no neutral.

If we relinquished our grip on righteous thoughts/actions, then Satan fills the void immediately.

To me, it seems there is no fence to stand on. No neutral ground. We serve either one master or The Other.

No wonder we must cling tight to the word of God and ALWAYS remember Him.
