Alma 1:9

9 Now, because Gideon withstood him with the words of God he was wroth with Gideon, and drew his sword and began to smite him. Now Gideon being stricken with many years, therefore he was not able to withstand his blows, therefore he was slain by the sword.

Nooo! Gideon's last words were defending truth.

(What kind of person was this guy? He wanted to kill someone because he couldn't persuade him to follow him? Was money, comfort, ego or prestige of such a high priority that they overlooked and brushed aside murder?? It seems preposterous. But, as I write this, I've realized that this is exactly what happens in the world today. Surely, that Book of Mormon was written for our day. And surely, I need to keep the desire for and the love of money in check.)
