22 And Amulek said unto him: Yea, if it be according to the Spirit of the Lord, which is in me; for I shall say nothing which is contrary to the Spirit of the Lord. And Zeezrom said unto him: Behold, here are six onties of silver, and all these will I give thee if thou wilt deny the existence of a Supreme Being.

Let the conversion of Zeezrom commence!
(I love that Amulek answers his first question with, "maybe." He, because of the spirit that was with him, is going to be in perfect control as this plays out. He is never on the defensive. He always in offensive control of the conversation - interesting that Satan's (since Zeezrom was in "expert in the devices of the devil") very first tactic was to use the temptation of money. I wonder if Amulek needed money? I wonder if he even began to be tempted by that? And more importantly, does mankind tend to succumb to the lure of money so easily that it is often Satan's first, or most common, or most successful tactic? If so, how am I doing? How easily do I let the pull of money lure my focus away from what's more important?
