1 And again, my brethren, I would cite your minds forward to the time when the Lord God gave these commandments unto his children; and I would that ye should remember that the Lord God ordained priests, after his holy order, which was after the order of his Son, to teach these things unto the people.

I'm confused about some things here.

He wants them to look forward to something that already happened - but in the future.

And when/what exactly is he referring to here? When Jesus walked the earth? Which hadn't happened yet? If so (or rather, if not) how could they "remember" it?

Or, was he referring to the days of Abraham? Or the days of Adam? If so, then what does "remember forward" mean?

I love all things time travel but this one has me in a loop I can't get into or out of! :)

Please feel free to enlighten me in the comments if you can shed some insight for me. :)
