28 And Alma and Amulek came forth out of the prison, and they were not hurt; for the Lord had granted unto them power, according to their faith which was in Christ. And they straightway came forth out of the prison; and they were loosed from their bands; and the prison had fallen to the earth, and every soul within the walls thereof, save it were Alma and Amulek, was slain; and they straightway came forth into the city.
God always listens to the prayers of the righteous and answers them according to His loving and wise care for His children!
Wait, here it says the bands were loosed. I wonder why this was included in the record a second time, and now I'm not sure if they were loosed or if they burst them. Either way it was an obvious manifestation of God's power!
I have always wondered a lot about the part that they "straightway came forth into the city." What was that walk like? Were they healed both physically and mentally when God blessed them with strength? Where did they find clothes? And food and water? Were their faces bruised and bloody? Did they struggle to walk? Or were they good now?
I like to think that God took them, walked with them, provided for them, set them on their feet and filled their hearts with hope, faith, and even love- for they were walking toward the city, to continue the work of God.
