1 And it came to pass that Alma and Amulek were commanded to depart out of that city; and they departed, and came out even into the land of Sidom; and behold, there they found all the people who had departed out of the land of Ammonihah, who had been cast out and stoned, because they believed in the words of Alma.
I wonder if they went back to Ammonihah?
So there were people who escaped the flames?
Talk about fleeing for your life!
Or were these people already out of town, some earlier converts?
Oh! This is why only women and children are mentioned as being thrown into the fire (I can hardly write that) because their husbands were elsewhere? Why? What on earth? I can't imagine they would have abandoned them, like the priests of Noah, but what were these circumstances?
Or maybe I have it all wrong. I mustn't judge. I don't have the big picture.
Can't wait to learn more in millenial firesides, hopefully taught by Alma and Amulek themselves.
Or, the nameless believers.
Some of my favorite heroes in this book - are nameless.
