4 And now, when the king heard these words, he said unto them: Now I know that it is the Great Spirit; and he has come down at this time to preserve your lives, that I might not slay you as I did your brethren. Now this is the Great Spirit of whom our fathers have spoken.
So he knew the scriptures? A little? Or, was this just verbal tradition? Because Ammon is about to unfold all the scriptures before him and he's gonna soak it up, so it must be new info.
So "Great Spirit" must be passed down orally, maybe? I don't know. Just guessing and trying to think about Lamoni's background.
I'm about to very much love this murderous king and even more - his even more treacherous father.
How is it that we are SO blessed to have all these stories about very wicked people, whom Christ redeemed? This book is full of redemption stories!
I'm convinced that's what the whole book is about...Christ's power to save us ALL.
Surely we can all find ourselves in this book somewhere.
