16 Now Alma, being the chief judge and the governor of the people of Nephi, therefore he went up with his people, yea, with his captains, and chief captains, yea, at the head of his armies, against the Amlicites to battle.

Did I know/remember that Alma Sr. is now a military leader?

(Nope!)

I guess when everyone in your society is living God's commandments and are all essentially in God's church, then their leader would automatically be both a spiritual and political leader, and that such a leader wouldn't send men to battle and himself stay back.

(I think I know how this is going to end!)

How does this book stay so fresh every time I read it?!

I ALWAYS learn so much.
