38 And it came to pass that many died in the wilderness of their wounds, and were devoured by those beasts and also the vultures of the air; and their bones have been found, and have been heaped up on the earth.

What an awful way to die!!! Lying mortally wounded in the wilderness waiting (and watching and listening) for the beasts and vultures to eat you dead or alive. I feel so sorry for them! Even though they were the "enemies", the Nephites always refered to them as their "brethren".


They are people too, who love, have feelings and families and hearts.


My heart goes out to them all.
