15 But Lamoni said unto him: I will not slay Ammon, neither will I return to the land of Ishmael, but I go to the land of Middoni that I may release the brethren of Ammon, for I know that they are just men and holy prophets of the true God.
Okay hold up. Back in verse 11, Lamoni feared to offend his dad and I didn't know the back story, but apparently his dad is a pretty rough guy- even willing to kill his own son, on a whim, here in a bit. I can see why Ammon would fear to offend him. BUT! HOLD UP! Suddenly Lamoni stands up to his father and says "No." to his every request.
I wish I knew what was going on in his mind at this point? Was he afraid? You can have courage without fear. There would be no need for it.
And how was Ammon feeling right now?
This is just about to get REAL good!
