27 And there was not a wicked man slain among them; but there were more than a thousand brought to the knowledge of the truth; thus we see that the Lord worketh in many ways to the salvation of his people.

And Mormon enters here a very important and strategic "and thus we see."


He could have chosen to write the summary lesson of this story as a number of important conclusions. But Mormon, after including that amazing story in the record, wanted us to know this...."The Lord worketh in many ways to the salvation of His people."


I love that he chose that.


It helps me remember that God is in charge, that He knows how to save His children, and that everything He does is out of love.
