Alma 5:13

13 And behold, he preached the word unto your fathers, and a mighty change was also wrought in their hearts, and they humbled themselves and put their trust in the true and living God. And behold, they were faithful until the end; therefore they were saved.

What was it that caused the "mighty change"? I believe it was the word of God. I think I too often underestimate its power.

Today I'll pick a part of the word of God to ponder.

Also, his faith (v. 12) wrought the mighty change. So, both require effort on our part, even a small effort, the smallest, and God's grace swoops in and reaches our yearnings and fills our souls.
