26 And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?

I just love that we have the words that he chose to speak to the people in Zarahelma when he was so concerned for them that he gave up his day job to preach to them.

I love that we can read exactly what he chose to say. And he chose to be brutally honest- to appeal to both their hopes and their fears. He chose to help them remember past spiritual experiences and to look forward, down the path they are currently walking, with an honest view.

I can take some lessons from Alma's heartfelt and inspired approach. I can especially imagine that I'm in his audience and answer his question for myself.

I'm sure he would speak them to me too, if he could. Maybe that's what he's doing.
