1 Behold my beloved brethren, seeing that I have been permitted to come unto you, therefore I attempt to address you in my language; yea, by my own mouth, seeing that it is the first time that I have spoken unto you by the words of my mouth, I having been wholly confined to the judgment-seat, having had much business that I could not come unto you.

I love that we have Alma's own, exact words from his own mouth and pen! (or "pennish" type object.)

I will be looking for patterns that set his personality apart as I read his own words.

I'm really coming to love and respect Alma Sr., the warrior, prophet, judge and soon missionary. Wait- he is going on a mission right? With the sons of Mosiah? Or is he just travelling as the 'stake president' or "visiting authority." Wait. He's the prophet! That's right, right? There's so much I still don't know. I'm thinking about when he meets Mosiah's sons after their mission- Oh yeah! He goes out with Amulek! So many amazing and favorite parts coming up!!!

Reading on!
