23 And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive.

I just looked up what 'entreated' means! I need to work on being easy to be entreated!

So grateful for that counsel that is new to me! And I love- that asking for what we need is part of Alma's counsel/ command. Asking is not just a want, it's a need. And God is easy to be entreated!

I also love that he put that it's okay to ask for temporal things. No, actually, I think it's a must, not just 'acceptable'. :)

So many new thoughts for me to ponder today. I hope I remember to give thanks as much as I request. I'm sure I have a ways to go with that.

Grateful for the reminder.

I'll make my prayers today, not a shopping list, but a meaningful discussion with my Father in Heaven.
