18 Now it came to pass that after Alma had received his message from the angel of the Lord he returned speedily to the land of Ammonihah. And he entered the city by another way, yea, by the way which is on the south of the city of Ammonihah.

So much to love here.

The word 'speedily' for sure, and the fastness of the change of his focus. The speed of his steps, and I probably the angle of his chin, I imagine were very different before and after the angel came.

(I also love that Mormon included the directions and detail of where he entered when he returned.)

I can't help but wonder if he had, even after that heavenly visit, had doubts? Did he wonder what about his preaching would be different this time that the people would now listen? Did he wonder how this was going to work? Or were all doubts and fear pushed out by faith?

I also like imagining Amulek having a similar experience at a similar time, on a similar road. Both turning back toward the city- about to bump into their new best friend. Each other.
