Alma 9:6-7

6 And they said: Who is God, that sendeth no more authority than one man among this people, to declare unto them the truth of such great and marvelous things?

"Who is God...?" Makes my heart hurt.


7 And they stood forth to lay their hands on me; but behold, they did not. And I stood with boldness to declare unto them, yea, I did boldly testify unto them, saying:

I wonder why "they did not"?!? I wish we had a little more detail here. Is it because of his "boldness" that was because of the Spirit that was with him?


Is it the same as Abinadi's experience??


(Interesting that Alma's father saw Abinadi have the same experience as his own son would have years later.)
