Mosiah 1:3

3 And he also taught them concerning the records which were engraven on the plates of brass, saying: My sons, I would that ye should remember that were it not for these plates, which contain these records and these commandments, we must have suffered in ignorance, even at this present time, not knowing the mysteries of God.

Was Benjamin's family the only ones who got to read the scriptures, since they were engraved upon metal plates? Or were they also copied onto on some sort of parchment, scroll or paper so all could have a copy, like today?


If not, I can see why many prophets in the land were so needed to teach the people what was on them.


(Wait, how did the other prophets read them? Did the plates have visiting hours? So curious how the people got the word of God.


I'm so grateful I have it in my possession or within reaching distance whenever I want it! A blessing I don't want to take for granted. I have the scriptures, the word of God, with me - always!
