41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
What does 'the righteous are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual' mean? I can see spiritual blessings, but what about faithful saints who are so poor?
From experience I know that if we obey the law of tithes and offerings, that our needs will be met, if its God's will (and in His time) and we will be blessed.
What are 'temporal' blessing? Physical, earthly needs? I don't understand it completely, but I know this is true.
What about the pioneers who died from starvation and cold. Maybe it's all in the timing?
God must have a broader perspective of 'temporal' blessings.
I do know that wealth does not equal righteousness and vice versa.
Ponderable.
There's still so much I don't know. But I know that God knows, and that's enough. I believe the doctrine even without fully comprehending it. I can't not. I've come to know Him well enough that it's ALL good. My eyes are just dim, or the veil too thick, sometimes.
But I believe it all.
