19 And in the morning the Lord caused a deep sleep to come upon the Lamanites, yea, and all their task-masters were in a profound sleep.
Can we just pause at this verse for a second and about this miracle?
Just- wow!
I wonder if after the people worked so hard all night, if they felt pressed for time and scared that they wouldn't get everything gathered before the Lamanites woke up?
Were they scared of the rising sun, thinking they would soon wake up and catch them? (I think I would naturally lean toward this thought.)
Or- was their faith in Christ so strong as to dispel (or control) their fear?
I think they must have trusted Him when he said, "Tomorrow I will deliver you out of bondage," which, when wholly believed, leaves no room for fear.
They knew the sun was coming up, but they did NOT know God would cause the deep sleep.
They had reason to fear, be anxious, uncertain and confused. They couldn't see the outcome, nor likely thought of the possibility of that particular miracle. But their trust in God's promises must have overtaken their hearts, pushed fear out and left no room for faith's replacement.
Pondering today!!!!
